Ditch Your Alarm Clock for Foreign Language Distance Education Courses

Ditch Your Alarm Clock for Foreign Language Distance Education Courses Ditch Your Alarm Clock for Foreign Language Distance Education Courses Online learning is not the next big thing, it is the now big thing. â€"D. AbernathyWhat if I could show you a way to shut down that pesky alarm clock once and for all? What if you could stop hitting the snooze button every morning before you finally drag yourself out of your warm, comfy bed to go to your language class? What if I told you that you wouldnt have to make your life revolve around any schedule except your own?Would you be hanging on my every word, waiting for me to spill the beans?Of course you would! Its your language programâ€"why not have it on your schedule?I hear you wondering how you can possibly do that. But the truth is, its pretty simple:  Distance education. It brings language learning to youâ€"on your terms and in your time.If youre interested in a foreign language degree or  looking for the opportunity to take  courses from a college (even if youre not  after college credits), distance education is the way to do that.Distance learning  is different from other onli ne learning in that its associated with colleges and universities and often involves degrees or certifications.Worried youre too old to go back to school, or that youve missed your chance? Consider the 81-year-old Chinese woman who got her bachelors degree through distance learning. (Interestingly enough, completely aside from this, she also taught herself to speak multiple foreign languagesâ€"the degree was in e-commerce.)She certainly achieved her goalâ€"and in the comfort of her own home!If youre worried you wont be able to find a great distance language program, worry no more. Theres something for everyone, especially where foreign languages are concerned. Were a world full of communicators! The first step in finding the perfect program is examining your options.Weve got some good ones here, so lets check them out and get you started! Why Distance Learning WorksDistance learning continues to be a growing trend for many reasons. Honestly, were all so pressed for time and juggle such crazy schedules that making it to another commitmentâ€"even a language class that we loveâ€"is often just too difficult.Distance-learning courses can be much more flexible with regards to scheduling and space. Okay, so you may not want to ditch that alarm clock completely yet, as this doesnt mean that there are never any time or course limitations whatsoever, but you may find that online language courses have fewer limitations due to being online. Many programs still have very specific degree requirements, so youll want to check out the particulars of each course at registration and do your research ahead of time. However, some courses available through distance learning dont adhere to a traditional semester and can be taken all year round, over the summer or at other times.More flexibility means more likelihood of choosing the language classes that are a perfect  match for you.  No more taking a course that’s too advanced or one thats a bit basic just because it was the only one available when you were, or missing out on the rarer language you really wanted to take because it clashes with another requirement. And distance learning eliminates the need to travel. No more going to learningâ€"now, learning comes to you! Whats not to love? How to Maximize Your Distance Learning ExperienceWhether the course you choose focuses on independent study (you do the work without any online classmates) or features a virtual classroom where interaction with other learners is an option, try to participate as much as possible.Submit materials for critique, ask questions and take part in online discussions. Communicate with your teacher and fellow students to get the most out of the experience. After all, language is all about communication.  The discussion sessions in many online courses provide loads of information. Others may be grappling with the same grammar issues you are, so take note when relevant topics come up.You all share a passion for the language youre studyin g, so see the friendship potential in your classmates. Who knows? You may find a great online study partner for post-class learning. Be friendly and learn from your peers.Treat the course just like you would a real-life class. Yes, I know youll probably be wearing yoga pants or maybe even your PJs when you log on, but dress code aside, approach distance learning as you would any other class. Be prepared to learn and  do any assigned homework, and if you’re in a virtual setting with other learners, be sure to arrive on time.Class instructors are usually available through a contact link or email. Use it.  If youre having a grammar or vocabulary issue or just have questions, speak up! Theyre generally quick to respond and you may bring up something that needs further classroom discussion. Chances are that if youve got questions, others do, too!Practice your language outside of the course on your own time with FluentU, so you can put what youre learning into practice. 5 Ways to Build Your Online Presence

5 Ways to Build Your Online Presence Image via Pexels 1. Be Consistent in Your Theme/Photos: This may seem like a minor detail, but it actually is important when it comes to building an online presence. Throughout your various social media platforms, have your ‘theme’ and photos be consistent. By ‘theme’ I mean a specific color palette, font, letter sizing, etc. These small details will show others that you dedicate time into making your pages look cohesive and polished, thus making your personal brand appear more reputable. Alison Doyle of the Balance notes, “  For example, you can use the same photo on all your profiles. You can also  create a branding statement  and use some or all of it, so youre sending the same pitch or message, on your social pages.” 2. Utilize LinkedIn: LinkedIn is an excellent place to establish and build an online presence. For one, it’s a popular place where business professionals, both online and offline, connect, look for jobs, and network with like-minded people! If you don’t already have a profile, create one to leap into the virtual job world and start making your brand noticeable! 3. Try a Professional Facebook Page: LinkedIn is a useful tool to connect with professionals and perhaps to your surprise, so is Facebook! With the shift of where people are looking for and finding professional connections, Facebook has emerged as a key platform to build an online presence. If you are looking to do this, just be sure to differentiate your personal page from your professional one, so you can separate the two. Being on Facebook as a professional can give you the chance to share your skills and current events that are going on in your life! Image via Pexels 4. Find Common Interests:  What better way to build your online presence than to find common interests with others? Josh Steimle of Entrepreneur.com  states, “when reaching out to someone, always do your research to learn a few things about them, find an interest you have in common, and ask them about it to break the ice. If you struggle to find a common interest, become interested in something they have experience with by researching it and coming up with some questions on the topic.” You can find people with common interests through various social media platforms, especially ones like Facebook or Twitter. Doing so will not only help you to meet new people, but it will also expose you to new areas of your industry that you might not have been aware of! 5. Personal Website:  Having a personal website can draw attention to you and you exclusively without the other potential distractions that can come with being on a social media site like Facebook or Twitter. Rather, a personal blog or website shows potential employers that you are serious about building your online presence and looking to spread your brand across multiple platforms. Regarding the benefits of a personal website, Alison Doyle  writes, “A blog or personal website that is related to your career interests is a good place to highlight your expertise and an ideal way to feature your credentials.” Who doesn’t want to have the free time to do what they want and work remotely at the same time? Choosing to work remotely is not always an easy decision, and it can sometimes come with a few difficulties. While building an online presence and creating a brand for yourself takes some patience and determination, if you follow the right steps, you can network effectively and be successful working at home. As always, good luck!

The Number Combination in Chemistry

The Number Combination in ChemistryThe combination of a number prefix and a person's name creates one of the most unusual combinations of numbers in all of science. It makes sense for this combination to be so difficult to name, and yet, people are still naming it. While we may not find a way to name it, we can still honor this uncommon combination of numbers. Each time we look at numbers in our everyday lives, we experience an experience that is unique to that one number. Many times, we can use this basic principle of how each number works to create the perfect name for the unique combinations of numbers. Most people tend to base their naming on their first names, but it is possible to take an unusual combination of numbers and create a completely new name. The prefix is unique and may only ever be used by one person. However, the combination of prefix and the person's name is very easy to figure out.The combination of the prefix and the person's name is always more unique than any o f the other combinations of the prefix and the person's name. It is the combination of the prefix and the person's name that create the reason that it is such a unique name. Therefore, it is also important to remember that all the numbers can be broken down into their own unique sets of characters, even if it is only one or two. Some of the names we create are named after the ingredients they are made from. Metal bromine is commonly used as the base ingredient in many of the compounds we refer to as chemicals. Because each element of that compound has its own unique prefix, the compounds created can be named after the prefix of the element. For example, the combination of the prefix hydrogen and the element bromine is the element sodium chloride. When you combine the prefix and the element, you end up with sodium bromide. There are over twenty-eight elements with these prefixes. In fact, the hydrogen or H prefix, sodium, chlorine, iodine, and potassium are all part of the chemical fam ily of sodium bromide. For another example, there is no one on the planet that knows that the first known cell was named after potassium. The prefix 'K' used for the element is very similar to the prefix 'L', but it is pronounced the same. Because it is so similar, people in the future will need to learn the new name for the element. As more people share the results of their research, it is expected that people will eventually get it right. While there are dozens of names that have been invented in the history of science, there is not one that is the same as the combination of prefix and the person's name. It makes a nice, unique name for any chemistry experiment.

What Does Concentration Mean in Chemistry?

What Does Concentration Mean in Chemistry? What does concentration mean in chemistry? This question is asked by many students, particularly college students, as they realize that the degree they have decided to attain is of great significance to their future.Concentration in chemistry means that students are seeking a holistic view on a subject, rather than just a quantitative one. Although it can be used to measure how well you have learned a particular area of the subject, it can also be used to measure how well you know something. For example, you may have learned some data about thermodynamics through a course in chemistry, but have no idea how this relates to thermodynamics, and how this relates to the universe in general.Bibliography, what does it mean in chemistry? Bibliography is a term used to describe the fact that a particular piece of information has been gathered by someone else, for instance, someone who is researching something you are currently studying. This makes the information very valuable, since it can only have come from someone who already knows about it, and who has researched it.In the past, research was important in determining the level of the concentration of a particular substance. This did not make much sense, because chemicals were still being synthesized, new ones were being discovered and theories were being developed about the substance. After a while, they stopped using this concept as well, because the process for determining the concentration was extremely time consuming, and the results were never in-sync with other findings or theories that had been put forward by other researchers. However, nowadays it is possible to determine the current concentration level of a chemical, even if you do not actually know how it was made. Concentration is determined using an experimental test, which involves certain chemicals being placed in water. Once the liquid is filtered and the chemicals have been measured, the result will be the amo unt of each chemical present. However, no matter how you determine the concentration of a substance, it is still not possible to know everything there is to know about it. You still need to collect information, then combine this information with knowledge gained by reading about it. Only when you have acquired all of this knowledge, can you fully understand how this chemical has effected the environment. However, the more you learn about the concentration of a substance, the more you will be able to work on the effects of this substance, or how this has affected the environment. Concentration in chemistry is a complex concept, and no two people will ever come up with the same answer. It is therefore essential to understand all of the different concepts involved before you can fully grasp the meaning of concentration.

Teaching English To Japanese Students - Whats Hot

Teaching English To Japanese Students - What's HotAs one of the growing trends in foreign language education, teaching Japanese to learning English has become a rapidly popular method of teaching English to English speakers. It is often used in conjunction with one or two other courses in the curriculum to give students practical experience of conversational English. The introduction of this foreign language course has been propelled by some specific factors. First, many people who have recently immigrated to the U.S. would like to learn English, but do not have the language skills to perform an actual language exchange. Because of this, these immigrants are forced to use an interpreter friend in their native language. They find that they can hardly communicate effectively because they do not know any grammar of the language and are only able to communicate through translation. This makes learning English for Japanese students particularly appealing because it teaches students the basi cs of the language without having to speak it themselves.Another reason why so many people are interested in this course is because of the opportunity to learn English at their own pace. In the past, students who took a full time course of Japanese were expected to take a class every day. However, many courses have become shorter and allow students to study as much as they want to at their own speed. With the language becoming such a highly desired skill in today's job market, employers are demanding that students have skills in their first language. Because of this, employers are willing to train employees that can speak the language fluently and effectively.By combining English as a second language with a foreign language course, students will be able to learn the language efficiently. The more that students work at their skills, the better they will become at learning English for Japanese students.Because Japanese is a very difficult language to learn, especially from scratch, stu dents will probably find the teaching method for English to Japanese students frustrating and time consuming. If that is the case, a combination of this course with a separate language course would be ideal. But if that is not possible, then it will probably be a good idea to choose another program.
